AMMAN — The Jordan Exporters and Producers Association for Fruit and Vegetables (JEPA) participated in Qatar’s 7th International Agricultural Exhibition.
The JEPA said, in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Sunday, that it concluded a visit to Qatar on Saturday after a series of meetings with owners of agricultural companies, Qatari entrepreneurs and foreign importers.
The delegation was introduced to AGRICO, a Qatari agricultural development company experienced in organic agriculture, aquaculture and farming of high value crops.
The two sides explored the prospects of opening marketing channels to the Qatari market through linking small farmers with Jordanian exporters.
The four-day visit comes within the framework of the “Rural Economic Growth and Employment Project”, which is being carried out by Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation and funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development for a number of Jordanian exporters, JEPA members and farmers from the National Agricultural Research Centre’s field school programme.
