AMMAN — The Ministry of Finance announced that domestic revenues increased by JD250.6 million in 2024, reaching JD8,770.5 million, compared with JD8,520 million in 2023.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the ministry attributed this increase to a rise in tax revenues by JD168.7 million (totalling JD6,440.9 million) and a JD81.9 million increase in non-tax revenues (reaching exemption from the special tax on electric JD2,329.7 million), the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The ministry noted that the government's recent economic measures, aligned with the Economic Modernisation Vision, contributed to the improvement in domestic revenues compared with the 2024 reestimation figures, which stood at around JD8,618 million.
These measures included a 50 per cent vehicles, waivers for additional fees and penalties on unlicensed vehicles for multiple years, and exemptions from acquisition fees and reregistration fees, if applicable.
