AMMAN — Jordan is participating in the 24th joint meeting of UNRWA and Arab states hosting Palestinian refugees, which started on Saturday at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.
Mahmoud Aqrabawi, director general of the Department of Palestinian Affairs, said the meeting aims to address legitimate Palestinian aspirations, the most important of which is recognising their right to establish an independent state on their national soil.
He noted that Jordan is concerned about Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian holy sites and preserving their historical Arab identity.
