KUWAIT — Interior Minister Salameh Hammad and Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Mohammad Al Khalid Al Sabah on Tuesday discussed current regional developments and measures related to activating transit trade.
The two officials discussed the possibility of the transfer of goods to Iraq through Kuwait. Hammad explained that the closure of Jordan’s borders with Syria and Iraq affected economic conditions in the Kingdom.
It increased exporting costs incurred by Jordanians traders, he said, highlighting the importance of re-activating transit trade between Jordan and Kuwait and facilitating the movement of Jordanian trucks through the Gulf country.
