Jordan-GAFTA trade exchange reached JD654m in January 2022 — DoS

AMMAN — The trade exchange between the Kingdom and the Greater Arab Free Trade Agreement (GAFTA) countries reached about JD654 million in January, compared with JD510 million in the same month of 2022.
According to foreign trade data released by the Department of Statistics (DoS), the value of national exports to the GAFTA countries increased in January by 26.8 per cent, reaching some JD205 million, compared with JD161 million for the same period last year, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The value of the Kingdom's imports from the GAFTA countries increased by 28.5 per cent in January to JD449 million, compared with the same period last year of some JD349 million. Saudi Arabia topped the GAFTA list of nations receiving Jordanian exports in January, with some JD71 million in exports. Saudi Arabia also topped the list of importers to Jordan, as the Kingdom's imports from Saudi Arabia stood at some JD269 million.
