AMMAN — Jordan on Monday condemned Israel’sescalation in the Palestinian territories over the past few days and the continuation of provocative break-ins to Al Aqsa Mosque/Al Haram Al Sharif yards under the protection of the Israel occupation forces during Ramadan.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Haitham Abul Foul stressed that Al Aqsa Mosque, with its total area of 144 dunums, is a place of worship for Muslims only, stressing the need to halt all procedures that hinder worshippers' access to the mosque during Ramadan, according to a ministry statement.
He also stressed that the break-ins of extremists and their acts are considered a violation of the historical and legal status quo and international law, reiterating the need to stop all provocative and unilateral procedures that might only lead to more escalation and violence.
