Jordan, Azerbaijan reiterates shared regional and int'l perspectives

AMMAN — First Deputy Speaker of the Lower House Mustafa Khasawneh on Monday stressed the strong and historic ties between Jordan and Azerbaijan, founded on mutual respect, shared interests, and ongoing coordination in regional and international forums.

During a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Jordan Eldar Salimov, discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in areas that serve both nations' interests, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Khasawneh highlighted the alignment of views between the two countries on key regional and global issues and stressed the importance of expanding coopearation, particularly in the parliamentary sphere, noting that such meetings reinforce cooperation and facilitate the exchange of perspectives on mutual concerns.

In line with parliamentary regulations, he pointed to the establishment of the Jordanian-Azerbaijani Parliamentary Friendship Association, aimed at fostering the exchange of legislative expertise and best practices.

Salimov reiterated Azerbaijan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations across various sectors, including trade, economic, and cultural cooperation. He also underscored the importance of sustained efforts to deepen ties and noted the two nations' shared positions on several global issues.

Salimov also highlighted the establishment of the Jordanian-Azerbaijani Cultural Association, which seeks to further cultural and social ties between the two countries. He expressed appreciation for Jordan’s steadfast commitment to justice, equality, and human values.
