Joint Jordanian-Egyptian military drill ‘Aqaba/6’ begins

AMMAN — The joint Jordanian-Egyptian drill ‘Aqaba/6’ kicked off on Sunday and will be implemented over the upcoming two weeks in special training fields. Brig. Gen. Abdullah Shdeifat, assistant for operations and training at the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), highlighted the importance of these annual drills that are held to unify military concepts and reach a high level of preparedness at strategic and tactical levels, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

The exercise also aims to carry out a series of military trainings as part of a strategy to enhance military cooperation between the armed forces of both countries. The exercise aims to develop defence capabilities within agreed-upon plans, exchange expertise in the fields of planning, control and command, and unify joint military concepts.
