AMMAN — The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) on Tuesday signed a partnership agreement with USAID to boost the competitiveness of the Kingdom’s pharmaceutical sector, according to a statement released by the JFDA.
The activities listed in the Project Implementation Letter aim to expedite and streamline all procedures related to the drug registration and testing process in order to reduce the time it takes for Jordanian medicines to reach the market, including by instituting an Electronic Common Technical Document system at the JFDA next year, the statement added.
The USAID-supported activities, which are scheduled to run until September 2018, will include automation of the drug registration process and capability building of JFDA staff — interventions that will improve workflow, according to the statement.
