JAF, Senate president mourn passing of former army chief Sarayrah

AMMAN — The General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) on Wednesday mourned the death of former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Khaled Sarayrah, who passed away on Wednesday.
Senate President Faisal Fayez also mourned the death of Sarayrah, praising Sarayrah’s contributions in serving the homeland and his achievements in the Senate and other public service posts he held in the civil and military fields, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Fayez also expressed his condolences to the Sarayrah family. Born in 1944, Sarayrah was awarded a number of orders, including the Order of Al Istiqlal (Independence) of the First Degree, the Russian Order of Alexander Nevsky and French Legion of Honour of the Commander degree, Petra added.
