JAF field hospital arrives in Karak

AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) on Sunday embarked on preparing a mobile field hospital at the Karak public hospital to receive COVID patients and enhance existing capacity.

Director of the Karak Health Department Ayman Tarawneh said that the field hospital is supplied with all necessary medical equipment, including 14 regular beds and four intensive care beds, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Director of the Karak hospital Muath Maaitah said that the field hospital, prepared following His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives, arrived at Sunday dawn and will begin operations upon completion.

A total of 24 beds out of 44, approximately 55 per cent, at the Karak public hospital are currently occupied, Maaitah said, indicating that the hospital has 10 ventilators with oxygen reserves being sufficient and machines monitored on a regular basis.
