AMMAN — The Greater Irbid Municipality and the German International Cooperation agency (GIZ) have started preparing studies on a waste-sorting project, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Thursday.
Ahmad Abu Al Rubb, the director of the environment department at the municipality, said the one-week field study includes collecting waste from seven areas in Irbid, some 80km north of Amman, to determine which area is better to sort and recycle its waste.
He also added that GIZ is funding this project, which is expected to improve environmental conditions in the targeted area.
