Irbid police arrest several suspects involved in house, shop thefts

AMMAN – The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel in the northern region arrested several suspects who robbed tens of houses and shops in Irbid, a Public Security Department statement said on Monday. After investigating several cases of break, enter and theft, police officers managed to identify the main suspect, who carries a criminal record.
The suspect was arrested after identifying his location and confessed to committing 17 house thefts in partnership with another man, who was later arrested.
The statement said that CID officers have also arrested a suspect involved in thefts of 12 shops in the city.
They were caught after raiding a farm in which they used to hide their stolen items. CID personnel searched the farm and found mobile phones, laptops, a digital camera, a gun and an amount of synthetic cannabis.
