Interior minister, UK ambassador discuss police, security cooperation

AMMAN — Interior Minister Salameh Hammad on Thursday discussed with British Ambassador to Jordan Edward Oakden means of furthering bilateral ties especially in the fields of policing and security, along with the latest regional developments.
Hammad stressed the necessity of sharing security expertise to foster regional stability, combat crime in all its forms and counter terrorism, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The two kingdoms are tied with deep relations, the top official noted, calling on activating and investing in these ties to fulfil the aspirations of the two peoples.
Oakden commended Jordan’s role in the pursuit of security and stability in the region noting the importance of intensifying joint cooperation to serve the two countries’ interests.
