AMMAN — Preliminary clinical tests for those who were in contact with Arab students infected with COVID-19 in Irbid indicate that there are no symptoms of infection, Wael Hayajneh, the official overseeing the coronavirus crisis in the northern governorate, said on Monday.
He said that more than 100 samples were collected from individuals with suspected infections, stressing that it is “not possible” to confirm infection until the results of the laboratory tests conducted on the samples taken from the suspected cases come back, most likely on Tuesday morning, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He pointed out that the epidemiological inspection teams also examined samples from those in the vicinity of the infected students, including neighbouring shops, in addition to tracking individuals who may have come into contact with the infected persons.
