Huneiti, Pakistani naval chief discuss cooperation

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Maj. Gen. Yousef Ahmed Huneiti on Tuesday discussed aspects of joint military cooperation with Chief of the Naval Staff of the Pakistan Navy Admiral Naveed Ashraf and the accompanying delegation.
During the meeting held at the General Command of Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), Huneiti and the visiting delegation went over ways to develop bilateral relations to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries' armed forces.
Huneiti stressed the importance of orchestrating international efforts to achieve world peace and security, emphasising the need to strengthen the "strategic" Jordanian-Pakistani partnership.
Admiral Ashraf expressed appreciation for Jordan's efforts in supporting the region's security and stability, commending the JAF's "advanced" level.
The meeting was also attended by the Pakistani Ambassador and Defence Attaché in Amman, and a number of senior JAF officers.
Also on Tuesday, Huneiti, met with Turkish Ambassador to Amman Yakup Caymazoglu to discuss ways of strengthening bilateral relations and military cooperation between Jordan and Turkey.
The two sides exchanged views on enhancing joint coordination across various sectors and addressed recent developments in the region, underscoring the importance of continued collaboration to bolster regional stability and shared strategic interests.
Caymazoglu expressed his appreciation for Jordan’s pivotal role, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, in promoting peace and security across the region. He emphasised the need for sustained cooperation to support the armed forces of both nations.
The meeting was attended by the Turkish Defense Attaché in Amman, along with several senior officers from the Jordan Armed Forces.
