AMMAN — Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), a Crown Prince Foundation initiative, and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) on Sunday signed a memorandum of understanding to support the technical education sector and establish a specialised cybersecurity laboratory.

Under the memo, the GIZ will provide the university with a specialised laboratory for cybersecurity and cover the costs of training ICT department employees to receive relevant international certificates, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

HTU President Labib Khadra expressed the university’s appreciation for the GIZ’s keenness to support the HTU, noting that the laboratory will open its doors to the Jordanian youth and provide them with training and job opportunities.

Muhammad Badran, director of the training and vocational education projects at the agency, said that the GIZ always seeks to find new partners in the higher education sector with the visions focused on meeting the requirements of the labour market.
