AMMAN — A virtual reality lab, the first of its kind in the Kingdom, is going to be established at Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), following an agreement with the King Abdullah Design and Development Bureau (KADDB), the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Under the agreement, KADDB will provide HTU staff with necessary training on using the applications, in addition to technical support and gear maintenance.

The lab is composed of CAVE, a complicated system based on displaying tri-dimensional content on four walls to be used in industrial design, and teaching topics like anatomy and chemicals reactions.

HTU President Labib Khadra added that this lab is a “means that will transfer education to a new and more advanced level”. Director General of KAADB Mohammad Farghal affirmed that enhancing co-operational framework with universities and scientific research institutes is one of the bureau’s fundamental goals.

“Focus will be given on scientific research outputs in the next stage and how they could be practically employed,” he said.
