House speaker meets with Chinese, Irish ambassadors

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi on Monday held separate meetings with Chinese Ambassador Chen Chuandong and Irish Ambassador Marianne Bolger, to look into enhancing collaboration in all fields, mainly at the parliamentary level.
Safadi expressed the Kingdom’s appreciation to China for its support for the Palestinian cause, and stressed the importance of boosting trade exchange and enhancing parliamentary relations between Jordan and China, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
For his part, the Chinese ambassador stressed his country’s support for the Hashemite Custodianship, and expressed his gratitude for His Majesty King Abdullah’s efforts to realise peace and stability in the region. During his meeting with the Irish ambassador, the two sides emphasised the importance of cooperation, where Bolger expressed her country’s appreciation for Jordan’s role in the region.
