Hneifat, Canadian ambassador discuss agriculture cooperation

AMMAN — Agriculture Minister Khalid Hneifat and Canadian Ambassador to Jordan Donica Pottie on Tuesday discussed ways to cement cooperation in the agricultural sector, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported During the meeting, Hneifat expressed appreciation towards the role played by the Canadian government in supporting Jordan in all sectors, stressing that food security is contingent on the agricultural sector.
He highlighted the necessity of increasing cooperation with Canada to face the challenges that afflict Jordan, especially in the field of climate change, scarcity of natural and water resources and arrivals of refugees over the past years, which increased pressure on the Kingdom’s resources and infrastructure.
In turn, Pottie underlined the depth of Jordanian-Canadian relations, focusing on ways to increase cooperation between the countries.
