AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah will head to Moscow on Wednesday in a working visit, during which he is scheduled to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin and other senior officials to discuss the latest regional developments.
The visit is part of King Abdullah's coordination efforts with world decision-making capitals over the situation in the Middle East, including means to combat terrorism groups that threaten the region and the world, according to a Royal Court statement.
In addition, His Majesty and the Russian officials will discuss ways to bring about peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis according to the two-state solution as well as the developments in Syria and Iraq, the statement said.
The Monarch paid a visit to Russia in April this year, during which he and Putin underlined their commitment to institutionalising mechanisms of cooperation to best serve the interests of the two countries.
The two leaders voiced their willingness to develop cooperation in the areas of energy, water, agriculture, transport and tourism.
They also reviewed efforts to mitigate the impact of the Syrian crisis on the stability of the region, especially in light of the growing violence and extremism.
