Higher Education Council appoints new Al al-Bayt University president

AMMAN — The Council of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on Monday approved the appointment of Adnan Otoum as president of Al al-Bayt University in Mafraq.
The council also passed the 2018 budgets and 2017 closing financial statements of a number of private and public universities, including Jordan University for Science and Technology, Balqaa Applied University, the Applied Sciences University, the American University in Madaba and Petra University.
Meanwhile, according to an official statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the council also approved new regulations to restructure the salaries and allowance systems at a number of institutions, mainly Jordanian universities, including Al Ahliyya Amman University and Jadara University.
