Health Ministry, WHO conduct mock emergency response drill

AMMAN — The Health Ministry in cooperation with World Health Organisation (WHO) and main partners on Monday carried out a mock drill to determine the readiness of the emergency health operations centre at the ministry’s crisis unit, according to a ministry statement.
As part of the ministry’s emergency response plan, Health Minister Mahmoud Sheyyab said that the exercise is vital to ensure the preparedness of the ministry and the concerned departments to respond to any health emergency.
Sheyyab added that the exercise identifies the strengths and weaknesses of the response plan. WHO representative in Jordan Maria Cristina Profili praised the ministry’s efforts and its commitment to health preparedness to ensure appropriate response during crisis.
