Health Ministry honoured for ‘outstanding’ social media content

AMMAN — The Ministry of Health received the "Social Governments Award" on social media for 2023 in the category of "best content in the health sector". The award, which recognises excellence in governmental communication via social media in the Arab world, was presented to Ghaith Oweis, head of the Directorate of Health Awareness and Media at the Ministry of Health, at a ceremony in Cairo last Wednesday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Oweis said that the award was a result of the ministry's teamwork and collaboration with the local community, as well as its efforts to share accurate and scientific information on social media platforms to enhance the quality of health services for the public. The award, which was launched by the Institute of Social Governments in Cairo, saw the participation of more than 30 government entities from 7 Arab countries, namely Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Morocco.
