Qatari ambassador hails Nashama's ‘outstanding’ performance at AFC Asian Cup

AMMAN — Qatari Ambassador to Jordan Sheikh Saud Bin Nasser Bin Jassim Al Thani on Tuesday praised the outstanding performance of Jordan's national football team, (The Nashama), in the final match of the AFC Asian Cup in Doha. During a sports event organised by the Qatari mission which was attended by prominent Jordanian figures and Arab and foreign ambassadors, the envoy expressed his admiration, saying: "I salute the Jordanian Nashama. I congratulate Qatar and the Nashama for their impressive performance." The diplomat also highlighted the deep Qatari-Jordanian relations in various fields, including sports, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. He also underscored the importance of Qatar Sports Day, an unprecedented initiative aimed at raising awareness of the central role of sports in community life. Held at the Orthodox Club, the Sports Day featured a range of activities including football, tug-of-war, basketball, table tennis and a taekwondo demonstration. Al Thani concluded the event by presenting gifts to the participating children and attendees.
