Generations For Peace renews support for youths as global peacekeepers

AMMAN (JT) — On the first anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security, adopted on December 9, 2015, Generations For Peace (GFP) reaffirmed the resolution’s objectives of youth empowerment in decision making, peace and security keeping against violent extremism, according to a statement released by the organisation on Thursday.
HRH Prince Feisal, the founder and chairman of the GFP, said: “As a Jordanian international NGO, Generations For Peace is extremely proud of Jordan’s leading role in the development of resolution 2250”.
The statement quoted him as saying that “there has never been a more crucial time to help the world’s youth achieve their potential by supporting their actions and giving them a greater voice to bring positive change in their own communities”.
