GAM inspectors destroy 30 tonnes of frozen meat

AMMAN — The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) health inspectors destroyed 30 tonnes of frozen meat found unfit for human consumption during the first third of Ramadan, the director of GAM’s slaughterhouse department, Mahdi Aqrabawi, said Wednesday.
The inspectors examined a sample of 2,725 tonnes of frozen poultry and red meat, he said, noting that a total of 3,249 sheep, 998 cows and 397,741 chickens were slaughtered at slaughterhouses.
