17 tonnes of spoiled meat destroyed

AMMAN — Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) slaughterhouse department personnel on Wednesday destroyed 17 tonnes of imported frozen meat at the Ghabawi Landfill.
Veterinarians at the department checked the meat and found it unfit for human consumption.
Bacteria colonies, change in colour and high pH levels were detected in the meat.
Also on Wednesday, the Health Inspection Department at GAM organised an awareness workshop titled “Know more about Coronavirus” for its employees.
Specialised lecturers from Jordan University of Science and Technology, the Health Ministry and GAM led the workshop.
