AMMAN — Amman General Attorney Hassan Abdallat on Tuesday issued a gag order banning the publication of any news related to matters surrounding HRH Prince Hamzeh and others, in a bid to maintain the confidentiality of investigations carried out by security apparatuses.
Abdallat told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that the ban will continue until a further notice, noting that the gag order includes a ban on the publication of any photos or videos related to the matter in audio-visual media outlets and on social media.
He also said that the decision was made according to the provisions of the Penal Code and the Press and Publications Law that allow the attorney general’s office to issue gag orders on any case.
