French ambassador visits electoral commission

AMMAN — French Ambassador to Jordan David Bertolotti on Sunday visited the Independent Election Commission (IEC) and met its president, Khaled Kalaldeh, to discuss cooperation in the development of the electoral process.
Kalaldeh reviewed the commission’s achievements, including holding the 2016 parliamentary elections, underlining that the latest constitutional amendments expanded the IEC’s assignments to include all types of public elections, according to an IEC statement.
Bertolotti commended the IEC’s efforts, expressing Paris’ readiness to cooperate with it on election-related issues.
