Four new coronavirus cases in Irbid, two in Amman raise Kingdom’s count to 274 — Jaber

AMMAN — Minister of Health Saad Jaber announced on Tuesday that six new coronavirus cases have been recorded in Jordan, bringing the total number of cases in the Kingdom to 274.
During a press briefing at the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management, Jaber said that the new cases include four people from Irbid who interacted with infected persons and two cases in Amman who have also been in contact with an infected person, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Jaber confirmed that the tests conducted in residential buildings in Irbid, where 48 Arab students live, came back negative.
Jaber also announced the recovery of four individuals who were tested positive for COVID-19 in Prince Hamzah Hospital, noting that they have been discharged.
Epidemiological inspection teams conducted 1,220 coronavirus tests in all governorates of the Kingdom, he noted, thanking all medical personnel for their “distinguished efforts” during this period and praising the role of volunteers who assist the medical teams.
The minister also assured the people of Wadi Musa that all the tests that were conducted on local residents, which amounted to more than 250, came back negative, noting that the Ministry of Health will conduct another round of testing next week.
