Fakhoury briefs French lawmakers on impact of regional crisis on Jordan

AMMAN — Planning and International Cooperation Minister Imad Fakhoury on Tuesday met with members of the Jordan-France friendship committee at the French parliament. He acquainted them with the challenges Jordan is facing as a result of regional instability, especially the Syrian refugee crisis.
Jordan has been pushed to its limits in carrying the burden of the refugee influx on behalf of the world, Fakhoury said, calling on the international community to honour its pledges to provide the necessary assistance to the Kingdom, according to a ministry statement.
The delegates praised Jordan’s humanitarian role in hosting refugees, voicing their support for the Kingdom in fighting terrorism.
