AMMAN — Labour Minister Yousef Al Shamali on Sunday warned employers in all sectors against hiring non-Jordanian workers in violation of the Labour Law, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The ministry will count the number of non-Jordanian workers who do not hold valid work permits and “will implement a comprehensive campaign to expose them in coordination with the concerned authorities and deport them”, Petra reported.
He stressed that inspection teams from the ministry will also issue fines in accordance with the law against violating employers who employ non-Jordanian workers without valid work permits or assign them to unuthorised professions.
He called on employers and non-Jordanian workers to make use of the Cabinet decision, which offers a grace period until September 2 to legalise their work.
