AMMAN — Intersos, a humanitarian organisation working in Jordan, on Monday announced the end of its winterisation assistance to refugees and vulnerable Jordanians under an ECHO-funded programme, during which 16,675 individuals have benefitted from cash assistance, and 2,442 others received emergency relief items such as blankets, mattresses and plastic sheets.

The action, carried out during the 2016/2017 winter season, was part of a broader programme aimed at ensuring assistance for refugees and vulnerable Jordanians in non-camp settings in Jordan, a statement by Intersos said.

Assistance was provided by Intersos and the International Catholic Migration Commission, and funded by the European Commission Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Department, in the governorates of Irbid, Mafraq, Jerash, Ajloun, Amman, Madaba, Karak and Tafileh, the statement added.
