Drug smuggling attempt foiled at Jaber border crossing

AMMAN — Border guards at the Jaber border crossing have seized 10,000 Captagon pills and one kilogramme of crystal meth hidden inside a truck coming from Syrian territory, the Jordan Customs Department (JCD) announced on Sunday.
The illegal substances were found inside two cartons of cigarettes hidden in the truck's cabin, and were then transferred into the custody of the relevant authorities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The JCD and security agencies work side by side to protect Jordan's citizens and economy from smuggling attempts, and especially narcotics, the JCD statement added.
