AMMAN — The Labour Ministry’s inspection teams on Monday night carried out joint inspection campaigns with other law enforcement agencies, which resulted in the apprehension of 165 violating guest workers.
Legal action has been taken against the violating workers, who will be deported, according to a ministry statement cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The ministry warned employers against hiring violating guest workers under legal liability, stressing that inspection teams will continue their work across the Kingdom.
The statement said that it is better for guest labourers to commit to the law and regulations so as to guarantee their labour, humanitarian and social rights, especially since some employers take advantage of the situation of violating workers who do not have valid work permits.
