MAFRAQ — Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Hayel Dawood on Saturday directed mosque preachers to focus on disseminating values that contribute to boosting peace and security in the Kingdom in the Friday sermon.
During a meeting with preachers and clerics in Mafraq on Saturday, he said Friday’s sermon should be aimed to boost the community’s positive behaviour and eliminate negative acts and traits.
Preachers should use the platform to disseminate accurate information, not false rumours that may instigate unrest, he said, noting that the ministry does not object to speaking about politics, but objects to slander, verbal abuse and attempts to harm the reputation of persons, entities and countries.
