Customs foil narcotic pills smuggling attempt

AMMAN — Jordan Customs Department (JCD) personnel with the cooperation of Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel have foiled over half a million (500,000) narcotic pills smuggling attempt, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Wednesday.
In a press release, the JCD said that the confiscated pills were found in a truck, hidden inside the wool of some 350 sheep. The department said that this seizure comes within the efforts of the customs’ department, based on the rehabilitation of human cadres, continuous training and the improved database of high-risk shipments’ investigation.
