AMMAN — HRH Crown Prince Hussein on Monday voiced his pride in the Public Security Department’s (PSD) employees for their role in serving citizens and maintaining the country's security and stability, according to a Royal Court statement.

During his visit to PSD headquarters and his meeting with PSD Director Maj. Gen. Fadel Hmoud and a number of officers and non-commissioned officers, the Crown Prince praised the PSD's reputation in their dealings with the Kingdom's citizens, residents and visitors.

The Crown Prince expressed his high confidence in the PSD's capabilities, thanks to the department's high level of preparedness and distinctive policing, a Royal Court statement said.

For his part, Hmoud said that all of the PSD's members are resolute in their relentless efforts to serve the country, achieve security and stability, preserve the rule of law and the state's prestige, as well as provide security, traffic and humanitarian services to every citizen, resident and visitor of the Kingdom, the statement added.

The Crown Prince reviewed specialised police units’ achievements during last year, and the measures taken to combat crime, especially narcotics, and efforts to boost traffic safety, as well as support and strengthen judicial bodies, according to the statement.

Hmoud presented the Crown Prince with a briefing of what had been implemented within the strategy of development, modernisation and structuring of police units, as well as the programmes designed to improve performance and the level of security, traffic and humanitarian services, the statement added.
