Representatives from Iraqi judiciary meet with Crown Prince, PM on learning from Jordanian judicial system

AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, Crown Prince Hussein on Thursday discussed with President of the Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq Faiq Zaidan the means to enhance Jordanian-Iraqi relations in all fields.

During the meeting, Crown Prince Hussein underlined Jordan’s support for Iraqi efforts to achieve peace and stability, according to a Royal Court statement.

Prime Minister Omar Razzaz also discussed with Zaidan and an accompanying delegation on Thursday the Jordanian-Iraqi relations, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

Razzaz pledged the government’s readiness to facilitate cooperation between the Jordanian and Iraqi judiciaries, Petra, reported.

Razzaz also briefed the visiting Iraqi delegation on the laws and measures the government has implemented to enhance law enforcement and improve the judiciary, all upon Royal Directives, according to Petra. 

For his part, Zaidan voiced the Iraqi judicial council’s keenness on benefitting from Jordanian expertise in judicial matters, especially in integrating technology into the justice system.

Constitutional Court President Hisham Tal also met with Zaidan and the accompanying delegation over means to enhance judicial cooperation between Jordan and Iraq. 

Tal briefed the Iraqi delegation about the Constitutional Court’s work mechanisms.
