JJC, Iraqi delegation talk judicial cooperation

AMMAN — President of Court of Cassation and Jordanian Judicial Council (JJC), Mohammad Ghazo, and Head of Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq, Fa'aq Zaidan, discussed ways to develop joint judicial and legal cooperation. 

In a statement on Sunday, the JJC said the Iraqi delegation's visit aimed to strengthen bilateral relations in the legal and judicial fields, launch related training programmes, and future visits to learn about the two countries' court systems. 

According to the statement, the two sides also discussed ways to benefit from their legal systems and the best judicial practices aimed to support their judiciary, speed up trial procedures and enhance exchanging expertise in this regard. 

The delegation was briefed on Jordan's judicial development and achievements made in implementation of the recommendations of Royal Committee for Developing the Judiciary and Enhancing the Rule of Law and the future strategic plans, the statement said, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

Concluding their several day-visit, the Iraqi delegation visited Judicial Institute of Jordan, and were briefed on its role in training judges and diploma programmes offered annually to trainees.
