Crisis cell follows up on Jordanian students in Ukraine — Foreign Ministry

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Monday contacted all 12 embassy staff present at the border crossings and points between Ukraine and its neighbouring countries: Romania, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Safadi, over phone calls, stressed the need to continue providing all facilities and services to Jordanians and their families coming from Ukraine across the borders by all available means, including providing consular services, issuing necessary documents, and providing support and care for them in preparation for their return to the Kingdom.

He underlined that the security and safety of Jordanians are the top priority.

Safadi also thanked all his ministry colleagues, who, since the outbreak of military operations have headed to border crossings, expressing his appreciation for their tireless efforts in coordination with the Crisis Unit at the Ministry's Operations Centre and embassies in Ankara, Bucharest, Berlin, Vienna and Moscow.

Since the start of military operations in Ukraine, more than 1,059 Jordanians and their families have been able to cross the borders from Ukraine to Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Moldova.

They were received by representatives of the ministry present at the border points.

So far, 265 people have expressed their desire to return, and more than 40 Jordanians were expected to arrive Monday evening from Warsaw.
