Consumer Price Index rose 1.35% in 2021 — DoS

AMMAN — The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a measurement of inflation, increased 1.35 per cent in 2021 to reach 102.46 compared to a CPI of 101.1 in 2020, according to the Department of Statistics (DoS). 

The DoS, in its monthly report on Wednesday, indicated that the CPI for December of 2021 increased by 2.4 per cent, reaching 103.54, compared with the 101.11 recorded in the same period of 2020. On a monthly level, the general index of consumer prices increased by 0.47 per cent in December, reaching 103.54, compared with 103.06 in November of 2021.

The basic index of consumer prices for December of 2021 reached 69.41, compared with 69.09 during the same month of 2020, registering an increase of 0.47 per cent, according to the Jordan news Agency, Petra. 

On the cumulative level, the basic consumer price in 2021 totalled 69.06 compared with 68.47 during 2020, marking an increase of 0.87 per cent.
