‘Construction to start on new tunnel, bridge in Irbid by end of year’

AMMAN — Public Works Minister Sami Halaseh on Monday said that construction of a new tunnel and a bridge will start in Irbid before the end of 2016 at a cost of JD10 million, according to a ministry statement.
During a visit to the northern city, accompanied by Health Minister Mahmoud Sheyyab, Halaseh said technical and consultative studies for the project to replace the Princess Basma Hospital with a new 500-bed facility is in its final stage, adding the new hospital, to be built under Royal directives, is projected to cost over JD50 million.
