Conference on religious tourism opens

AMMAN — Tourism Minister Nayef Fayez on Tuesday highlighted the importance of religious tourism in Jordan and Palestine, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Fayez was speaking at the 17th International Forum for Arab and Religious Tourism, organised by several companies from Jordan, the UAE, and Egypt, in cooperation with the Tourism Ministry.
Also speaking at the forum, Awqaf Minister Hayel Dawood cited Islamic edicts that encourage Muslims to visit Jerusalem and its holy sites through Jordan, Petra, reported.
