Committee to revise food import requirements

AMMAN — Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hneifat met on Monday with Foodstuff Traders Association President Khalil Haj Tawfiq to discuss measures to facilitate the issuance of a licence to import foodstuff into the Kingdom.
Hneifat underscored that food imports must adhere to local and international health requirements, according to a statement e-mailed to The Jordan Times.
Hneifat and Haj Tawfiq also agreed to entrust a committee of technicians, from both the ministry and the association, with revising import requirements as well as other restrictions imposed on food importers, according to the statement.
