AMMAN — It will be cold and cloudy on Monday and showers are forecast in the northern and central regions of the Kingdom and parts of the southern and eastern areas, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said on Sunday.
The downpour is expected to be heavy at times and accompanied by thunder and hail in some areas, which can lead to flood formation in valleys and low-lying areas, according to a JMD statement.
A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Tuesday with cold weather in most areas and fair conditions in the Jordan Valley and Aqaba.
Light showers are forecast in the northern, central and parts of the southern regions in the early morning, the JMD said. On Sunday, the Water Ministry warned that the King Talal Dam will overflow with an average of 0.34 cubic metres per second towards the Jordan Valley, after it reached its full capacity, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
