AMMAN — Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Gao Yusheng, in the presence of HRH Princess Basma, on Saturday presented laptops and tablet computers as a donation from the Chinese embassy to Mabarrat Um Al Hussein.

The ambassador expressed his appreciation for the humanitarian services the facility offers to children who suffer difficult family conditions, stressing that his embassy’s donation is aimed at supporting the institution’s efforts and services, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He also referred to the Chinese embassy’s regular participation in the annual bazaar of the diplomatic missions in Amman to support Mabarrat Um Al Hussein and enable it to perform its duties towards its students.

Princess Basma expressed her appreciation for the Chinese embassy’s gesture that embodies “noble human values” and responsibility towards these children, especially those who come from broken families, according to Petra.

During the ceremony, the princess and the ambassador spoke to some of the mabarrat’s beneficiaries and checked on their conditions and the education services they receive.

Some children expressed their happiness about the modern services the mabarrat and its educational, supervisory and administrative personnel offer.

Established in 1958 and chaired by Princess Basma, Mabarrat Um Al Hussein is the first charity association in the Kingdom that cares for children between the ages of six and 18 years old who come from broken families.

The mabarrat offers its children vocational training through IT programmes, education resource rooms and psychological guidance to enable them to become self-dependent and effective members of their communities.
