Child injured in festive firing incident in Mafraq, suspect arrested

AMMAN — Security personnel have arrested a suspect involved in a festive firing incident during a wedding in Mafraq, resulting in the injury of a child nearby, the spokesperson of the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said on Thursday.
He added that the PSD on Wednesday night received information about the incident during which the child was struck by a stray bullet fired during a festive firing at the wedding, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Police identified the suspect, who later turned himself in to the police.
The child was hospitalised and was listed in fair condition, according to the spokesperson.
