AMMAN — Chambers of industry on Monday organised a sit-in in solidarity with Gazans at the headquarters of the Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI).
The event witnessed the participation of board members and representatives of the Amman, Irbid and Zarqa chambers of industry and various industrial sectors.
ACI President Fathi Jaghbir said that the sit-in is part of a donation campaign that the ACI had launched to support the resilience of Gazans in the face of the brutal Israeli attack, according to an ACI statement.
During the event, Jaghbir expressed the chambers' denunciation of the Zionist occupation's attack on Gaza, the killing of innocent citizens, the imposition of a comprehensive siege on Gaza, and the cutting off of medicine, food, water and power to the strip.
He also voiced the industrial sector's full support to His Majesty King Abdullah's positions on the Palestinian issue, which the King has expressed on many occasions, mainly that there will be no peace or stability in the region without a just, comprehensive solution, ensuring Palestinians' rights on their national soil and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The ACI president also called on the international community, especially journalists, to urgently take action at all levels to bring the world’s attention to the “barbaric” Israeli aggression that is taking place in the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian territories, and to convey the truth to expedite the end of this attack and lifting of the siege on Gaza.
